  • The Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation is once again thrilled to participate in the 2027 Leadville Race Series ‘Charity Entry’ Program. The Legacy Foundation is the original charity partner of the Leadville Race Series. Established in 2002 by Leadville Trail 100 race founders Ken Chlouber and Merilee Maupin, its purpose has always remained the same. Build a better, brighter tomorrow for Leadville.

    The Charity Entry program provides a way for you to guarantee your entry into in the Leadville 100 MTB, Run or other Leadville Race Series qualifier events. You get to bypass the lottery and raise money for the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Foundation!

    As our major fundraiser, please know that ALL contributions you make to the LT100 Legacy Foundation stay right here in Leadville and support the needs of the local community.

    At the heart of our mission is a commitment to invest in the future of Lake County youth through education. We're proud to announce that beginning with the class of 2027, we are increasing the Trail 100 Scholarship award to $3,000 for every Lake County High School graduate looking to pursue higher education. 

    Beyond Scholarships the Legacy Foundation funds initiatives that build economic prosperity for Leadville, expand access to recreation and critical community services and preserve and celebrate our rich mining heritage.

2027 Entries Opening January 2027

Marathon / Heavy Half - $160 (Race registration fee) + $300 donation = $460* (total cost)

SR50 MTB - $160 (Race registration fee) + $500 donation = $660* (total cost)

SR50 RUN - $160 (Race registration fee) + $500 donation = $660* (total cost)

Stage Race - $650 (Race registration fee) + $3,000 donation = $3,650* (total cost)

THINGS TO KNOW

  • Charity entries are limited and do sell out!

  • Your entry donation helps fund a ‘Trail 100 Scholarship’ for a Lake County graduate!

  • Donations committed for a Legacy Foundation Charity Slot cannot go to another organization, only to the Legacy Foundation.

  • Donations to the Legacy Foundation are tax deductible.

  • You are welcome to use an employer ‘matching gift’ program, donor advised fund and/or fundraise for your Legacy Foundation charity entry donation.

  • LT100 MTB Charity Slot racers are automatically placed in the BLUE corral, unless previous LT100 MTB or qualifying race time supports a different corral position.

  • The Charity Entry program is a major fundraiser for us. All contributions are nonrefundable. We may be able to defer your entry to the following year based on the individual circumstances.
